Spirituality is a Belief System

Spirituality is a belief system where we seek to deepen our faith-life with the living God. We wish to pursue peace, understanding and love all in the name of Jesus. Nothing will magically unlock the door to happiness. That door only opens from within and you have the means to let Jesus in. Let’s look at some tips that will assist you on your path of a deeper spirituality. None of them will cost you a dime!
1. Desire change. The most important step in deepening your spirituality is the desire to draw closer to the source of all life. A conscious decision must be made to change. Your ever-deepening spiritual growth is the journey of a lifetime and will require energy, dedication and time. Some people say they were born in the Holy Spirit on a certain date and then lapse back into their old ways. I say you are born again with every new day.
2. New Adventures. When you learn a new skill, you get true joy and satisfaction out of doing it. The best example I can equate this to is when those who have a grand baby get the privilege of seeing how fast she picks up a new skill! If you are passionate about learning something new, such as painting, writing poetry or even going back to school (you are never too old to stop learning), enjoy the entire process and ask always for the guidance of the Holy Spirit to allow you to develop your talents. By so doing, you are stepping out in faith and opening yourself up to spiritual and personal growth.
3. Give the past to God. The past is over and done with, and you can do nothing to change it. Holding on to past sins and mistakes weighs you down with emotional baggage and limits your trust in God. Accept all past events, both the good as well as the bad, as learning experiences, pray to the Lord for His Divine strength, and then move on with your life.
